I did my undergraduate work as a biology major at Wayne State University from 1978 – 1982. I attended the Universidad del Noreste from 1982 – 1986. After completing a Fifth Pathway at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY in 1989 – 1990, I did my medical residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ from 1990 – 1993. I became a diplomate in internal medicine in 1996 and have kept up my certification. In addition, I speak medical Spanish and have certification to give opiate replacement medications, including SUBOXONE®.
I worked at Gregory Medical Associates based in Passaic, NJ from 1994 – 1999 and had privileges at several local hospitals. After some locum tenens assignments, I worked at Health Care Partners in Conway, SC from 2005 – 2013. That is a state-run health center for uninsured and Medicaid patients. I then returned to the Detroit area to care for my late father and have been employed at WellHealth Medical Associates since 2014.

Olivia Alnajjar is a certified physician assistant at WellHealth Medical Associates and specializes in family and addiction medicine. She received her Bachelor of Science at Oakland University where she worked as a medical assistant at a primary care office, which fueled her passion for primary care. She then continued her education at Western Michigan University and received a Master of Science in Medicine with a specialty in physician assistant studies.
Olivia has had extensive training in addiction medicine, specifically with opioid and alcohol use disorder. She has a great passion for helping those struggling with addiction mentally and physically. Due to her experience in family and addiction medicine, she sees a diverse group of patients and treats a multitude of diseases.
